Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
Upgrades to items can be an excellent way to increase the value of your weapon and armor. Upgrades to common and magical equipment aren't worth it, as rare or unique items are likely to outperform them.
A product can be upgraded up to six times. Each upgrade adds points to the item's level gauge.
Glyphs
Glyphs are the item upgrade materials that can be used to enhance an item's attributes. Glyphs are commonly used to improve the performance of a weapon or armor but they can also be used to improve an earring, hat necklace, or other accessory. Glyphs come in different levels and are offered by vendors in Deneb. They are usually very expensive however they are worth the investment since they can boost an item's stats.

There are many types of glyphs and a font can have multiple versions of each. The default glyphs of Adobe Caslon(tm) Pro, for example, include all of the regular characters, along with ornaments, swashes, fractions and ligatures. You can see these variations in the Glyphs Panel and then add them directly into your document.
Glyph metrics are the parameters that determine where a glyph is positioned when layouts for text are designed. Growthstones
When you upgrade an armor, weapon or accessory you can apply Growthstones to further increase the stats of the item. The maximum level of upgrade for an item depends on its quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded to levels of 9, whereas Uncommon items only reach level 6.
Growthstones can be purchased through NPCs in major cities or from the player's auction house. You can also collect them as rewards during the Ancient Arena season. These items are used to level weapons and armor, as well as to upgrade Passive Skills.
Once you have enough Growthstones you can visit any Equipment Enchanting NPC and raise the level of upgrade for your gear.
